The DWB Group of companies is pleased to announce the completion of further investment in truss production with the purchase of a 4.5m wide table press. The DePauw International press sourced via Gang-Nail Systems from Stavelse Metaalbouw N.V. has been installed at the Latchingdon, Essex facility. The press will double production and facilitate wider and longer trusses with its 'press and go' technology.

This equipment sees the culmination of over £400k of investment over the last 3 years. The group’s expansion commenced with a new Pacific press and CNC saw in Hull. Next saw the acquisition of the capital assets of the Palgrave Brown site at Boston and recently with the installation of the 21m long DePauw International table in Essex. The DWB banner now has production facilities at Hull, Boston and Latchingdon plus a design office in Nuneaton.

With over 25 years of truss production these investments confirm the DWB Group of companies is confident in serving the eastern seaboard of England. Having the ability to manufacture around 5000 units of truss and joist production per week DWB are securely placed to take advantage of the expected upturn in the market.

DWB Anglia Limited have supplied some 120 Trussed Rafters to an extension to the Westside School, Gibraltar.

Trevor Tween, Managing Director of DWB Anglia Limited commented "This was an interesting and reasonably complicated design whilst always thinking of the logistics of transporting the trussed rafters using external haulage via ferry ports".

DWB Hull have secured a major contract to supply open web joists and roof trusses for the extension to Dove House Hospice. The new multi-million pound works will extend the current facilities, creating new beds plus administration and visitor facilities. DWB are proud to be selected for the design and manufacture of joists and trusses in association with local builders merchants, MKM Hull.

It is not just architectural roof forms that are being created with timber trusses, the latest in timber engineering is also being used in solutions that would otherwise be constructed with steel. In one of the first projects of its type in the UK, DWB recently manufactured and delivered 38 no. long span trusses for the construction of the mono-pitched roof at a new Lidl store in Thirsk.
